Sheet Metal Worker

JOB DUTIES:
Set-up, program and operate press brake, shears and other tooling as required to make parts from sheet metal.
Read and interpret drawings and build parts to the specifications.
Perform the following functions to make parts from sheet metal:
- Cutting.
- Forming.
- Assembling.
- Painting.
Inspect parts, using basic hand tools, for accuracy of fabrication per drawing specifications. Notify Production Manager of any defects.
Package parts for distribution.
Build tooling and fixtures needed to produce parts.
Complete required paperwork as work progresses per work instructions; input necessary information in computer work order.
Learn the functions of the Composite Technician II and Machining Technician II to be able to develop parts using the tools of those trades.
Assist Sheet Metal Lead to train Sheet Metal Technician I and Sheet Metal Technician II on the sheet metal process.
Assist Production Manger to create and update operating procedures for sheet metal functions.
Assist in special projects as required.
Assist co-workers as required.
Cleaning:
A. Clean and maintain shop equipment for proper operation.
B. Inform Production Manager of faulty/perishable equipment and tooling for repair.
C. Keep work area clean and properly store equipment.
Safety:
A. Comply with established Company and Department safety procedures.
B. Protect equipment and parts from damage.
C. Inform Production Manager of damage to equipment and personal accidents.

ADDITIONAL DUTIES:
Perform all other duties and assignments as requested by Management.
Active participate in Company Drug and Alcohol Program.



REQUIREMENTS:
High School Diploma or G.E.D.
Read and interpret drawings, instructions and work orders.
Ability to use power operated machinery and sheet metal tools to make parts per drawing specifications with limited to zero defects.
Familiar with the use of basic hand tools and supply personal basic hand tools to perform job functions.
Able to work with composite materials.
Able to paint composite and sheet metal parts.
Team oriented and time sensitive.
Ability to work on own and motivated to perform job and provide a high-end, quality product.
Ability to work to specifications and extremely high attention to detail.
Understand and follow written and verbal instructions.
